Luke’s Story

Luke joined the team in 2021 as a Senior Financial Advisor and brings a decade of experience in wealth management. Following an eight-year career in the military, education in music performance and business, and a passion for life-long learning, he applies a well-rounded perspective to his partnership with clients. “I take pride in setting ambitious goals and developing comprehensive, holistic strategies to achieve them,” he says when asked about his planning philosophy. “My practices have been shaped by my time in the military, through my education, in my volunteer work, and while accompanying my wife through her medical career.” Luke is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner – a designation he earned in 2018 after fulfilling the education, experience, examination, and ethical requirements set by the CFP® Board. Additionally, he earned the Chartered Financial Consultant® designation in 2020.

Luke is a graduate of Hope College in Holland, MI where he completed dual degrees in business and music. He lives with his wife, Katherine in Holland, MI. Through college and the early years as a wealth advisor, Luke served with the 126 Army Band as a noncommissioned officer. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and was honorably discharged after eight years of service.

Outside of client meetings, Luke can be found walking downtown, enjoying concerts and shows, hiking, and cooking. “Often times my client appointments are less focused on the intricacies of wealth management, but in sharing stories of our families, travel, adventures, and experiences.”

Luke is a two-time State Champion old time fiddler and remains active in the Michigan traditional music scene. He welcomes clients and friends to any performance!
